Parking
We have off street parking for 7 vehicles, some of which can be
locked into our secure yard behind the property - particularly
useful for tradesmen who might carry valuables in their
vehicles. Parking on the premises is at the owner's
risk. Additional parking on the adjoining roads is plentiful
and free.
Fire alarm
A brand new smoke and fire alarm system has recently been
installed at Orchard House. In the event of a fire alarm, we
would ask guests to leave the building by the nearest exit,
closing all doors behind them. Please meet at the front of
the building. Do not stop to gather any belongings.
Additional safety notices are posted behind all bedroom doors.
Breakfast
A Full English Breakfast is normally served between 7.00 -
8.00am (Mon - Fri) and 8.00 - 9.00am (weekends). After these
times we will be able to offer cereal and toast. If you
don't require breakfast please let us know the night before so we
can minimise any wastage. If you can, please let us know
what time you will be down so that we can be sure to accommodate
you in the breakfast room.
Evening meals
We hold a large selection of frozen meals that can be warmed in
the microwave, as well as a selection of canned soft drinks.
Please ask to see what we hold during your visit. We will
leave it to you to make a suitable contribution as you see
appropriate. If you don't like the meal, don't pay - we
can't be fairer than that!
Fresh linen and towels
Fresh linen and towels are provided when you arrive at Orchard
House. These will normally be refreshed at the end of your
stay, or at the end of the week, whichever is sooner. If you
require fresh linen or towels before then please let us know and
we will refresh them as often as you like.
Telephone
A telephone is available for you to use - please ask
downstairs. We would ask you to make a suitable contribution
to cover the cost.
Internet and email access
We have an "always on" broadband connection in the
guesthouse and you are welcome to use the internet and to access
email online - just ask to find out when's convenient.
Shared bathrooms
We make every effort to keep our shared bathrooms as clean as
possible but if you use any of the shared facilities, please leave
them as you would wish to find them so that they are ready to use
for the next guest.
No smoking
Due to the fire detection system, installed for your safety, we
would ask guests not to smoke in the building as this may activate
the smoke detectors and fire alarms. Smoking is permitted
outside or in the front porch.
Checkout times
We would ask that rooms be vacated by 10.00am to allow the room
to be cleaned and prepared for the following guests.
Nightworkers are accommodated by arrangement.
Airport collection
We are happy to accommodate guests from overseas and will
happily arrange to collect you from the airport, either ourselves,
or through a local taxi company. Please contact
us to find out prices and let us know your flight details.
